Local Amenities close to The Pentagon
There is a good selection of shops, hotels, restaurants and other amenities in Wester Ross easily accessible from Cove. This page gives just a brief taste.
Gairloch
Most people at some stage will head towards Gairloch, which has an excellent range of amenities including a variety of shops, butchers, small supermarkets, garage, bank, hotels and restaurants. There is a 9-hole golf course and a sports/leisure complex.
Poolewe
Adjacent to the famous Inverewe Gardens, Poolewe has a number of shops, including a bakery, post office, an outdoor shop and an excellent coffee shop. It also has a small public swimming pool and a number of hotel/restaurants.
Inverasdale
The next village down the road from Cove. Unfortunately over the past few years the 'convenience store' and Post Office have closed. However organic produce is available depending upon season - look out for the restored shepherds hut/caravan.
Further afield
Inverness is approximately 2 hours drive away. It is the 'capital' of the Highlands and offers extensive shopping, recreational and leisure facilities.
About 90 minutes drive away to the north is Ullapool, the well-known fishing port and ferry terminal with regular crossings to the Outer Hebrides.
